Congratulations on your admission! The next step for you is to accept our offer and reserve your place. Be advised that completing the “Reply to Offer of Admission” form is the official acceptance of admission, allowing you to enroll in classes and register. Notifying your program alone is not sufficient. Even if you decide not to attend, we would appreciate a response. We are eager to learn of your decision and hope to welcome you in Berkeley soon.

Please log into the status page of your UC Berkeley’s online application to accept or decline our offer of admission.

After you accept our offer of admission, you will receive an email with your Student ID number and a temporary password to create a CalNet ID to access UC Berkeley’s student portal CalCentral to start the onboarding process.

Onboarding is a communication tool in CalCentral that provides important information for newly admitted graduate and professional students to orient them to campus and take the necessary steps to prepare for their arrival. Please review the onboarding messages and checklist items under “Tasks” on My Dashboard that you will need to complete in order to register.

If your program is a Summer Admit program, you will be able to enroll in Summer courses via CalCentral. Eligible Summer start programs are listed below:

All other new Graduate students who wish to enroll in the summer prior to their first Fall term must enroll as a Non-degree Visiting Student through the Summer Session Application process. Information can be found at summer.berkeley.edu .

Non-degree Visiting Student

This form is required of all new students and enables the Office of the Registrar to determine the fees you will be assessed; it must be submitted by June 1st to ensure the correct assessment of your fees. Use your CalNet ID and pass-phrase to access the CalCentral site. The link to the Statement of Legal Residence can be found under “Tasks”onMyDashboard. While I have been volunteering as a transcriber of data for the FamilySearch resource site, I share the frustration of other non-LDS members who have not yet been selected for the expanded beta test of the new framework. For all us loyal RM users -- and I go back to RM v.1 and its predecessor -- who are non-LDS, it seems reasonable that a modification could be made to the WebSearch tab to include a script directed to the "old" FamilySearch databases (and clearly identified as "FamilySearch (non-LDS) ").

There is one there already, but the link is broken. FamilySearch has been moving links around and we are waiting for things to settle before we have an update with the new URL in place. On the "Pick a Search Provider" drop down list is the option "manage search providers" on the WebSearch tab, you can add a custom provider. Try adding www.familysearch.org and it may work for a couple of days.

Hi, I am a new member to the forum. I tried your tip about adding the URL link and it worked beautifully - thank you for the tip. I am wondering if it only lasts a couple of days, can I then re-enter it (the URL) in again and will it continue to let me back through again to do more searches? Hope so as I would love to use this option more often. I am also an Indexer for LDS, and been a volunteer for quite some time now. I obviously am registered with them to download and upload this work for them, but when I type my user name and password into the RootMagic database it just keeps coming up with the error message that I should use my details for www.new.familysearch.org and won't let me through. Is this the same problem that other people have been having ? I know its very frustrating. As its now September, is there any word on how long it will take to be able to link straight through to them without the work-around tip you have mentioned above ? A final question - how can I change my password in case 'it is remembering' an old password ? Is there an actual way while sitting in RootMagic that I can 'change the password or update the password so that it can 'remember' the current LDS Family Search password?? cheers Jules

Want to stop taking things personally? Read this helpfularticle on how to nottake things personally tofeel better in your relationships and life.

How To Stop Taking Things Personally.

Have you ever found yourself ruminating and overanalyzing what someone said to you hours after a conversation? Or worried that when a friend doesn’t text you back that they are upset with you? Perhaps you feel hurt by your co-workers actions and feel like they are “out to get you” in the office. Or maybe someone says something which you take as an insult or you assume a person doesn’t like you if they walk past without saying hello.

“Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.” ~ Don Miguel Ruiz

This concept seems easy on paper, but it can be hard to put to practice in our lives. When it comes down to it, you’re in control of how you interpret things. Think of how much happier you’d be with a new perspective. Here are some suggestions on how to shift your mindset and adjust your interactions so you can live in peace.

Can you imagine how many problems could be avoided or solved by practicing this concept and following the steps above? It does require awareness, effort, persistence, and time to stop taking things personally, especially when it’s something you are used to doing. It’s well worth the effort. You will find that your self-esteem and overall quality of life will improve when you stop taking things personally. Commit yourself to self-awareness so you can monitor the times that you’re reading too much into a situation. Practice the suggestions above so you can resolve conflicts externally or internally with calm. Little by little you’ll see a change in your perspective that will positively impact your relationships, especially the one with yourself.

It’s well worth the effort.

It all boils down to a choice. A choice we sometimes forget we have, but one that can either strengthen us or weaken us. Next time an opportunity arises to take something personally, which will you choose, fear or love? The reality is: the world is impersonal and people do annoying, painful, unimaginable things every single day. That doesn’t mean you have to let that get under your skin. The more you focus on things that make you feel good personally, the less you will take things personally, and the more you will enjoy life.
