STI's Electronic Barrier Management Program (eBMP)TM

eBMP

eBMPTM is an electronic web-based program, offered by STI's firestop team, utilizing industrial grade equipment and customized software that forces standardization, accountability and quality control. Because work at healthcare facilities is occurring on an almost constant basis, unsealed penetrations are the single biggest problem to manage and assure compliance.

STI's eBMPTM gets in front of the processes that creates penetrations and manages the process through to sealing the opening and then tracks changes that occur in the future. A specialized eBMPTM firestop team will guide the health care facility through every step of the program until all systems are in place and operating efficiently. Download our eBMP brochure now

Electronic Barrier Management (eBMP) from STI

The Electronic Barrier Management Program (eBMP) is an electronic web-based program that manages the process of creating, sealing and subsequent access of penetrations. Utilizing industrial grade equipment, the eBMPTM forces standardization, accountability and quality control. This is achieved by utilizing web-based administration, permitting, facility mapping and management of approved firestop contractors. All compliance work is synchronized to servers and is available in 'real-time'.

Getting Started

STI's Healthcare Firestop specialist team along with a program facilitator will help set up, train and get you started.

Facility Mapping & Database Development

MappingUsing customized software, the facility will be mapped with your building prints and all barriers will be electronically documented as to:

  • Where the barriers are
  • Their construction type
  • The barrier rating

Each barrier will then be labeled using a PDA & printer that carries all information in a bar code format. This comprehensive mapping solution allows the user to easily identify and record where the work is being done.

eBMPTM Data Collection

A computer typically installed within the facility serves as the base station for the data collection system. This base station serves as a portal to the internet and allows the PDAs and to be configured and synchronized with the primary databases before the day's work begins and after it is finished.

Depending on how data storage is configured, this computer may also store penetration records and generate any needed reports.

Everyday Use

  • Once implemented, barrier management becomes an easy task. and configure the PDA to download permit information The PDA is then given to the worker charged with firestopping.
  • Scan the worker's permit.
  • Select the activity on the PDA
  • The worker scans the penetration label barcode with the camera. This tells the camera that all pictures taken after this scan are to be associated with the penetration record that it represents.
  • When the camera is docked, pictures are downloaded and automatically connected to the appropriate penetration record. No copying or pasting or manual manipulation required.
